Q. Who can attend CAMPA?
A. Anyone living in New York State entering sixth grade in fall 2017 is eligible to apply to begin school at CAMPA in September 2017. We welcome applications from students with Individualized Education Programs (IEP’s) and from English Language Learners (ELL’s).Applications to be included in the lottery are due April 1, 2017. Admissions notifications will be sent in April. Applications received after April 1st will be added to the waitlist. Q. When did CAMPA open to students?
A. The school opened in September 2016 for 6th-grade students.
Q. What is the school day like?
A. CAMPA students have 90 minutes more of daily learning than traditional public schools. For 6th grade students, the school day runs from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday – Friday. Collegiate Academy students also attend regularly scheduled Saturday morning programming per month. For more, please see our School Calendar and Day page.
Q. Where is CAMPA located?
A: CAMPA is located in East New York at 1962-84 Linden Boulevard, right beside Linden Park and a 5-minute walk from the L-train (New Lots) and 3-Train (Pennsylvania Ave).
Q. Does CAMPA provide busing?
A: Yes, CAMPA provides free busing to families. Students who are eligible based on their distance from the school (as decided by the Office of Pupil Transportation) may also receive a free or half-priced Metrocard.
Q. Are students required to wear uniforms?
A. Yes, to promote an orderly environment that is conducive to student learning, students will be required to wear uniforms.
